Strange Request (for Admins/Mods at this board)

I run an online community that has been hosted at gamespy. We use vbulletin for our message board, and are considering a move to servercove for our hosting. The one issue we are concerned about is that we have pretty significant forum traffic at times, and we're therefore concerned about what thread load times will be like at semi-peak times. I'm wondering if it would be ok with y'all if we do sort of a "test run" by having some of our forum users all come over here and post (all in one thread) in this off-topic section, just to see how long it would take threads to load. We'd come for a pretty brief amount of time, and you could delete the thread when we're done. This is really the only way I can think of to be sure that servercove can handle our load smoothly.

Also, I'd love to hear from the admins/mods about both the pros and cons of your experience being hosted here: customer service, downtimes, crashes, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Evil is the head dog here, he takes care of all the ISP stuff. He can probibly tell you all about servercove.

Thanks! I'll be waiting to hear from him.

Thanks man! If it only slows down a bit, then I'll feel pretty comfortable about moving it over. I'm putting the word out to come here at 10am tomorrow, so if things slow down around then, you know why.

On another note, it is a small world, even on the 'net. I see you're in Rome. I'm in Tucker. Actually, there's a picture of me on your newspaper's web site from several months ago still: http://news.mywebpal.com/news_tool_...ID=1012591&om=1

I've been using servercove since they started and customer support is top notch, even for shared web hosting. They have someone available to answer support tickets 24/7. They do have some downtime occasionally but usually get the problems sorted pretty quickly.

You're more than welcome to have your users come here and test the speed, but I don't know if that would even be helpful to you since we're on a shared box. It'll most likely slow down a bit here due to the higher server load but I doubt that would be a problem on one of their dedicated servers.

Well don't let me be the last to say "welcome to the Pit". Hey, I heard some of your stuff, and (gulp), well....it sounds a lot like the hardest working man in show business.
