Power Steering Pump Cavitating

As I understand it, the reason my power steering pump is making noice is because of cavitation...something about the high pressure/low pressure...low fluid...bubbles forming...or something.

How do I fix it? I've done a few Google's, with no luck. should i just fork up another $50 and buy a rebuilt pump?

And yes, I've topped the fluid off.

Here's the sequence of events:
- Disconnected power steering lines from bottom of pump.
- Small amount of leakage (about 1/2 teaspoon)
- Remove pump and set aside for several hours, while i continue to work on the engine.
- replace the pump and forget to tighten one of the line fittings.
- Start up engine, and see substantial amount of fluid pouring out where i forgot to tighten the fitting. (less than 10 seconds running)
- PS Pump making loud buzzing.
- turn off engine.
- tighten fitting.
- top off fluid.
- Start engine again. This time for about 60 seconds.
- Still loud buzzing.
- Remove PS Pump cap, and noticed lots of pressure built up in the reservoir. Lots of bubbles formed in the PS fluid.

Thanks in advance. (Again)

make sure again all fittings tight. Run engine allow fluid to get warm. Turn engine off and remove fill cap. Allow to sit with fill cap off. Repeat as needed. leafing the cap off will allow the air to excape.
