Hello all
My name is John, but everyone really does call me Spoo lol
i'm 26,live in South FL and drive 2 1996 black dodge neon coupes
one is bone stock the other is the "fun one"
Im not into wings, bodykits and all tha fast and furious crap

the reason for Twin neons?
the first one i had has a stand alone engine managment with an external trigger wheel for timing, well the trigger wheel sliped and advanced timing over 30 degrees on top of the set 30 degrees.. so 60+ degrees @WOT on stock pistons ate up my ringlands and chunked a piston
while the motor was torn apart i came across on a great deal for a neon twin and there you have it

current best ET was 14.3@96 with a 2.1 60' all motor stock bottom end on street tires with a reprogramed ECU and i made 156WHP and 141 WTQ
i think i could have got to 14.1 or so
im hoping the newsetup will get me a 13.3 on slicks and 13.8 on street tires
I have a direct port nitrous kit that im not sure i'll ever use but its jetted for a 100 shot, im told thats good for a 12.3 on slicks
The car

notice the chunk missing in the right corner?

damage to the raceported head..only ran it for about 2 weeks
its now at the machine shop getting repaired

Thanks

ive been trying to find a way to justify some V8 fun to get back to my roots lol
ive been looking at late 90's dakotas lately that may be the ticket
V8 fun, relatively fast and i can tow with it and not worry about sportscar rate insurance

Welcome to the site, Spoo!

Welcome, Dont feel too bad, your engine fared much better than mine did. Mine managed to work a valve seat loose and it shatterd. Then peices got back into the intake and peppered every piston

The pistons pretty much look the same.
