GT40P heads

I have a stock 91 mustang LX 5.0, I got a steal on a 5.0 engine with the GT40P heads, GT40 intake and 24lb injectors. Does anyone know the part number for the GT40P headers? I plan to put the GT40P heads on, 24lb injectors, 190 fuel pump, GT40 Intake and a good cam. Should these mods make a noticeable difference? Can anyone recommend a good mild street cam that will perform good with my ecm?

I think that the GT40P's take a regular header, but I'm not 100% sure

No, the spark plug design puts it more straight in the head. Stock mustang 5.0 headers will not fit. Mac makes a shorty header for the GT40P heads but so far I can't find the part number.

MAC PN: 54158
94-95 5.0 Mustang 1-5/8" Unequal Length Headers-Ceramic(GT40P) $289.99

Why didn't they use a roller rocker setup on the stock GT40P heads?

E-cam would be a decent cam for that setup. If you want a split pattern cam, the Crane 2031 would be decent as well.

I ran the CC2031 in my 302 with GT40 heads, Edelbrock 289 intake and 600cfm carb and it ran pretty good. Had a mean idle to it.

Cam specs are:

.513/.529" lift, 214/220 @ .050, 112lsa.

Second that on the Crane 2031 cam. Good cam. Works well with aftermarket heads, intakes.

Forget the Crane, it is as outdated as the alphabet cams. Look into the Stage 1 Trickflow, or get you a custom cam made for just a little more cash. Custom is the way to go, anytime you can afford. Off the shelf parts make off the shelf power, period.
