Where do you want to change the fonts? the icons on the desktop? The Start Menu? Within a certain program, like Word or Excel? In your Internet Browser? Depending on which area, you would have to do something different. The only "Global" font change ability I know of is in the Accessibility area - for people that are blind...or getting there. You could use the Magnifier utility - Click on "Start" > "Programs" > "Accessories" > "Accessibility" > "Magnifier"

And if you're REALLY blind you could use the Narrator - The computer will actually read everything to you...just click something, and the computer tells you what it is, or reads the text to you.

If you want to add new fonts you have to download the font file, usually a .ttf or something, and then you just have to drop it into C:/windows/fonts. It will install the font for you, and you can use it in any application that is installed on your computer....

He probably just set the monitor resolution to 1600 x 1200. The Ole Man needs it at 640 x 480 on his 20"+ screen.
