Who can "value" my truck?

So some of you guys have, or know people who own F-2/350's and I'm considering selling mine and buying another, whether or not it's the one I mentioned in the other post. Help me out guys, with at least opinions(not the "Ford sucks- haha" version either!).

Here's the details:

White and blue 1993 F-350 CrewCab 2WD PowerStroke Turbo Diesel(1995 engine)- 166,1XX miles, with chrome bumpers(rear step bumper).

Leather front bucket seats(not original) and bench rear seat, not leather, non carpet floor, all tan in color.

Aftermarket stereo system, including front and rear speakers(I think it's a Pioneer, but can't remember) with CD player.

Automatic transmission- replaced in April '04 with Ford remanned. unit.

8' bed with bed liner and mat(worn out) and bed hooks(6).

Working A/C and heat.

New heater core, fuel pump, cam position sensor and vacuum pump. New means within the past eight weeks.

Semi new fuel solenoid, starter, and tires(245/70/16's with less than 15,000 miles on them), A/C compressor and accumulator(plus orifice tube). Semi new means within the past 6 months.

Eagle Alloy wheels, stock full sized spare.

8,000 lb bumper tow capicity 10,000 lb class III/IV conventional hitch, over axle trailer mount(gooseneck- don't know the rating).

This truck has been really modified with respect to original equipment being replaced. The entire interior, sans vinyl floor, has been replaced. This includes the dash. The body and frame are 1993 vintage, but the wheels(aftermarket) and literally everything else are likely 1995 parts. Apparently a 95 was totalled(rollover) and the owner before that which I bought from bought it. He got the dash and running gear out of the newer truck. He also took the brakes from the '95 and probably swapped the complete rearend, although maybe not, as it's always been and F-350.

I'd rate this truck "okay" but it does have some rust on the cab(rear) possibly due to chemicals, or just age. It has scratches here and there, but not terribly bad. It's missing the hood right now(long story- wasn't there), but I plan to get another, and the wiper motor has a mind of it's own(minor issue really). It also needs a new brake master cylinder which I've already bought, but haven't installed yet. I have a new belt too, not installed.

I'm going to guess around 3,500 to a mid 5k....Depending on the cosmetics....the rust might drop it down some....the miles are high, but for a diesel many might overlook that..Does it have the XL or XLT package? If the truck just had the miles and looked very good, you might be able to squeeze 6,000 out of it...Many consumers want trucks and there value holds up better than most cars...With what you listed and what I've seen trucks going for around that year...I'm sticking to those figures I've mentioned.....

I had a few pics, but lost them somewhere... Hate when that happens! I've been offered 6 and I clearly better prepare and take 6. That was because of the PowerStroke, which wasn't available in '93.

The mileage is lower than normal for such a truck or at least considered low for a diesel. I've seen 99's with as much.

You gave me an idea though(thanks), so I checked N.A.D.A. and with my mileage in this model, low retail is $5,350 and high is $7,750. Average is $6,725(I thought it'd be less). Trade in value is probably right where you put it. That's in "fair" condition. It easily qualifies for fair.

Look on autotrader.com or ebaymotors.com and see what they're going for. 6 grand seems kinda low to me. It's hard to find a decent priced diesel around here. It's dang hard to find any turbodiesel for under 8 or 9 around here, let alone a crew cab, even if it is a 2wd.

so a quick run down it started out as a 93 and everypart has been bastardized to whar ever we has a lot of now stock shit is added and it looks like a turd in a punch bowl

I would say a truck moded like that would probably be hard to find an average "value" on because its not your average truck. Its a 93 year model has basicly been upgraded to a 95. I would say find blue book value on both the 93 and 95 model and ask somewhere in between, problably a bit closer to the value of the 95 model.

I think I'll check the value of a 94 model. The PowerStroke was available then, so it should be closer to accurate.

Jay, what's the F-250 get for fuel mileage? Is it a Super Duty or standard? I'm curious because at this point I plan to get another diesel, but if a 5.4L SD Crew gets decent mileage I may consider that instead.

It's a heavy truck. Mileage will suck, and although I haven't driven one, I seriously doubt a 5.4 in a crew cab superduty would be able to get out of its own way. Going from a powerstroke diesel to a 5.4 in the same size truck? I doubt you'd be very happy with it...

A lot of guys are going to the V10 now, and they seem to hold their value pretty well for a gasser and be a pretty solid engine.

If you want fuel mileage, the only thing that's going to be half decent in a big truck is going to be a diesel. A diesel in a 6000lb truck gets better mileage than my 4.0L in my 3000lb HEEP, which would do better than a 5.4 in an F150, which would easily do better than a 5.4 in an F250 (with all the extra weight). They've got a higher maintenance cost, but you should make it up in resale value real quick if you can afford the purchase price and take any sort of care of your truck.

Are you planning on buying new or used?

DS, I drove an F-250 standard duty for a few years, and still do sometimes. It's got the 5.4L and gets about 16mpg highway. My F-350 gets closer to 20mpg on the hwy. It's bigger, heavier, stronger(not in hp though) and has about every advantage. I'm just curious what the SuperDuty gets for mileage and how it feels as such a heavy pickup.

My idea so far is to spend under 25K and hopefully under 20K on a used one, probably a 2000-2002. I'd rather find a good 2003 and might spend as much as 25K on one if it was what I am looking for. The bank will give me 4.4% on used 99 or newer, so I'm looking. However, I may simply pass altogether. My truck runs quite well and is paid for.
