i got a new 302 crate motor and i finally got it running good but when i first crank it up for the day it smokes out of the exhaust, i got this motor becaue my last motor was doing this. What is it from, they have a warranty. What should i do, it isnt a month old but i have put about 600 miles on it,

i called the place where we got the motor and he said that he put very good seals on the heads. He asked if i was loding fuel pressure and i said i was when i shut the car off. He said i got a bad injector that is leaking fuel down the valve rod and washing the oil on top of the piston. That is why it is burning oil when i crank it up. Was wondering if someone knows how to check the injecotrs to find out which one it is.

Go get 'em tested at the Ford House.

Presuming this is a Mustang, are both sides of the exhaust smoking? If so, either you have more than one bad injector, or none are leaking. I think it's highly unlikely this is your problem, but it is possible. You'd need a severe leak to cause notible smoke on startup.
The more likely scenario is a bad valve seal or more. Brand new seals can be bad, particularly if they're installed incorrectly. In the case of a leaking injector, or other overfueling related smoking, the exhaust smoke will almost always be black. If your smoke is grey, white or blue, that's not likely to be your problem.
We'd need to know the color of the smoke to make any clearer guess about what's causing it. If it's a pure white smoke, not very dense, disappears very quickly, and goes away soon after startup, this could be simply because it's cold outside and you're entering hot air into the cold. It could be condensation. There are many possibilities.

this smoke is white and smells like oild and gas, like it is bruning very rich, brann new gt40 turbo swirl heads, just started about a week ago it does it for a couple of secs and then quits doe not smoke under hard acceleration. I thought that the seals would be the problem but the guy that built the motor said that a injector or more could be bad causing leakdown. They are used injectors, just wondering yalls thoughts thanks

sounds like the Valve Guide seals are leaking.

i done some test on them car today, it was holding fp but i had it to high at 50lbs so i droped it back down to 40 and it runs better and there is not that rich smell when you crank it up, we will see if that helps in the morning, if not the people i bought this from will get to fix it

50 is too high and 40 is fine. Still, this sounds like a valve seal issue more than anything else. If it's truly white, check your oil and your exhaust to make sure you haven't got liquid in the crankcase other than oil. You might have gas in the oil, a problem from too much fuel, but that would be a real problem, indicating ring wash and requiring a new set of rings and maybe even an overbore and larger pistons. That's kinda rare, but valve seals are all too common.
