I'm working on carpentry today, putting on cedar siding. I keep the TV tuned to the speed channel, and the Targa Newfoundland was on. Sheesh, some dude was driving a 1966 Nova, ha ha, beautiful car. Great looking course. Here's a link to the first year of the Targa Newfoundland. This looks like a great series in the making!
Time for another beer............and back at it. Hey, maybe I need to hook up a TV outside???????? Don't wanna miss anything.
Pack up the porshe, dial 1.800.341.7981 (marine atlantic ferry reservations) and get your ass to nfld.!!....... You WILL not be sorry!

From what I saw on the film today, I'd tend to agree with you. It's BEAUTIFUL. I was trying to figure out where the heck they were, because I was coming in and out of the house, working on a project, and I actually thought they were in Italy somewhere. They were racing on some awesome roads too, right on the coastline, cool village scene, harbor, etc.

Yeah they usually run the targa throughout the eastern and central parts of the island. There's LOTS of twisties on the backroads too! One could easily end up in someone's frontyard (or even the backyard!) if they didn't know the route and weren't paying attention.
Don't ask me how I know this, but it may have something to do with pushing the envelope of my 1980 chev citation while returning from a night on the town with my brother at 2 o'clock in the morning!!
Yes, the eastern part of nfld. has some nice scenery for sure, but not as much as the western part!
eastern newfoundland......
western newfoundland

Oh SHIT NRA!!!! You wouldn't say that in January!!! There's LOTS of fuckin' snow.
Actually in the 2nd photo, the mountain has a naturally made indian face on it, Marble Mountain ski lodge is just about 2 miles beyond that. To the left of the picture(can't see it) is the city of Corner Brook where my family's from. This area is pretty much my stomping grounds, and anyone who's been to New England can relate as to why I like it there so much.

Whenever you go to Newfoundland and get to know someone from there, and you guys start visiting other people......be prepared to eat alot. Back home they feed you good. You don't leave a place without a full tummy...............great food and great people in Newfoundland. And you will never forget your visit.

If those are the guys with the '61 and c5, both cars left on a trailer... They showed quite a few accidents. Seems alot of cars went into the weeds, And fences, and guardrails...
Hey Matt, you entering the dart of the spitfire this year?
Seriously though, that looks like a hell of alot of fun. If i had the money and the skill to keep a car on the road I'd build one up for that race in a heartbeat.
I'm not sure what I'd enter though...

Man from what you guys say about newfieland it sounds like a great place to live. I'd move there if your government didn't suck even worse than ours.

Thats why we hope that Newfoundland will leave Canada and go with the United States. Our government truly screws us over. People think we are the poorest province but by rights we are the wealthiest. I think Newfoundland would do alot better with The USA.

who needs the US? Just become an independant state.

We were an independant state at one time, over 100 years ago. And our currency was actually CODFISH once upon a time!
