V6 firebirds..are they what they seem

I just wrecked my 99 grand am with a 3.4 and the inssurance totaled it thanx to a dumb drunk driver who ran me off the road. well its gone and now im debating if i should get a 2000 v6 firebird or not. if heard people say they had anywhere from 200-224 hp and not sure who to believe. if anyone has any insight please let me know

Why not spend just a little more and go for a '98 or '99 with a V8? According to KBB, they're only $1,500-$2,000 more than the V6.
