Drive as many of each as you can, and find out which one you like best. With a little research, you can find good deals on all 3 models.

If you don't want an '03-04 Cobra or one of the limited edition Stangs (Mach1, Bullitt), I'd go for an '02 TransAm, all the way.

...OR a Sunset Orange Metallic Camaro SS

If you're looking for the one with the most power stock, it goes like this:
1)03-04 Cobra (supercharged DOHC 4.6L with around 360-380rwhp)
2)98-02 Trans Am or Camaro (N/A 5.7L with 295-320rwhp)
3)Mach-1 (N/A DOHC 4.6L with 260-280 rwhp)
4)99&01 Cobra (N/A DOHC 4.6L 260-280 rwhp)
5)99+ GT (N/A SOHC 4.6L with 220-240 rwhp)

You can get an 03-04 Cobra up to 450+ rwhp with minor boltons.. A 98-02 FBody (Camaro & Firebird) will put down similar numbers with heads & cam. You'll need to add nitrous or forced induction to get that much power from the other 3 cars.

My 2 cents;

Get an f-body with a 6 speed.

One other thing to think about, is where the Navy is going to station you. Insurance rates vary quite widely from place to place. All of your choices will be among the most expensive to insure anywhere you go. Plus factor in your age, and a duty station like San Diego or Pensacola or Long Beach, and you are looking at several THOUSAND dollars per year to insure. Being a young enlisted member, your pay will not be that great, and nearly all of your money will go to just owning the car. That doesn't include driving it. Make sure you have a good idea of your budget. Chow hall and galley food gets old quick. This is just some stuff to keep in mind. Welcome to MMC, welcome to the U.S. military, and good luck.

Yep. I'm Air Force (11 years). I've had several friends in all the branches of the service, and several members here are Navy Vets (Grape Ape and LS1 Mopar Turbo are 2 off the top of my head). If you have military questions, post them in the pit, someone should be able to help you find an answer.
