im wanting to take a 5.0 and put a kenne bell roots type supercharger, a 100 shot of nitrous,forged crank and pistons,a set of ported afr 125 cfm aluminum heads,a fairly decent street cam. what else will i need to make this work. and how much horsepower do yall think it will crank out. any help would be appreciated

i was just wanting to know if it can be built and the car be a stout runner. im planing on findind a wrecked focus and putting the engine in it for a nice lil street racer. ive seen only one focus with a 5.0 in it.what do yall think about this setup so far. should i put the motor in a focus or drop it off in my stang

I would imagine that putting it in a focus would be a huge pain in the ass and there would be so many details it would drive most people insane. Think about how many compnents you would likely have to change if you wanted the creature comforts to work, what if you wanted to work on the damn thing? What would you be using for a transaxle? It would be cool to see, but seems like a bit much work and money to me. I would drop it in the stang, seems a whole lot easier to me.

Well, you would prolly want a Ford racing block, (Ford guys chime in) as I think that is the heavy duty version. The regular block that you normally find in Mustangs aint gonna cut it much past 500 HP. As for the heads, you prolly meant 165 CC. I would suggest giving these guys a call, http://www.advancedinduction.com/ they would be able to give you some info on a custom grind for a blower/nitrous application along with a kickass set of heads.

I'd think he's going to go RWD if that's going in a Focus. Still, I don't think I'd use a stock block for such a build. I've seen it done and it won't last long. Worse still, the head gaskets won't like any part of it. A 351 would do much better on longevity.

You're probably right about that. All the fabricating and you still only have a focus though.

there was a kit to put a 5.0 and associated running gear into a Focus.
I don`t know who offered it or how compleat it was or if it`s even still available.
Does seem like a lot of work still.
