F#CK! Time to dump more money into the car.

Damn tranny let go on me for the 2nd time today. 3-4 clutch packs are toast again. Not gonna waste any more $$$ on rebuilding the stock 4L60E b/c its obviously not gonna hold up to the power Im making now, and definitely won't last when I spray it. I'm gonna look into getting an FLP level 4 or Rossler instead.

mega raptor 4l60... http://www.transmissioncenter.net my buddy put one in his s-10 blazer/383 4x4 and it has survived a bunch of low range launches. ever seen a truck light up all 4 on dry pavement

If I come to visit do I get a spin down the track in it? Never been in a 10sec car before....Driven or passenger....

i got a ride in my buddies basically stock 02 GT with a 150 shot and when he hit it it really got up and went... i could only imagine your LS1 with a nice shot of nitrous on it

one dude runnin around chicago with a pretty much stock 01 LS1 Z28 with a 300 shot luckily i havent seen him on the street yet haha

My friend was putting a new 4l60e in his parents' '96 Astro the other day. They took the old one in to get rebuilt actually, and the guys at the transmission shop wouldn't even rebuild it unless they'd let them use stronger parts and a shift kit because apparently they let go all the time. And that's for a 200hp minivan. Be glad yours held up THIS long.

It hasn't held up this long. This is the 2nd time its went out. 3rd actually, but one of them was because I broke the planitary gears at the track.

You mean it was a kit that could be jetted up to a 300 shot? The most I've ever heard of a stock bottom end LS1 spray was a 200 shot, and that was pushing it.

If you say so. Hmmm.. How much hp were you making when you ran that 7.7X 1/8 mile? 325+ wasn't it? I went 11s with only 300 rwhp (7.50s in the 1/8) and I will go 10s with only 400 rwhp in a 3400+ lb car. Would you call that a dyno queen?

I agree that dyno numbers don't mean shit. I can't count how many times I've ran off and left cars (yes including Rustangs :rl making 100+ more hp than me.. All the hp in the world is worthless if you can't get it to the ground. I've never had that problem though.
