Well folks...I haven't been on here much because I've been extremely busy. I thought I'd update you all on whats been going on with me.
As you know we rolled the van last month. Everybody was alright but the van was a right-off. We purchased a 1996 Pontiac Transport, same color but its alot nicer than the old Lumina. It has the alloy rims, power everything, rear air and the 3.4 liter engine instead on the 3.1. It also has remote start and remote locks. Cheryl really loves it and she was comfortable in it.
On April 6th, my 2 year contract at Proctor & Gamble was done. I loved that job but they couldn't keep me on because they weren't hiring. I was really bummed out but left on really good terms. 1 week later I started a new job at Robinson Pre-weigh Services. We mixed and bagged dry chemicals for Goodyear and Dunlop. It was a good job but extremely dirty. It was $13.00/hour and 12 hour shifts so I was making about 50 cents less than at Proctor but I had to pay the bills.
In the mean time, we have been looking at getting a new house. Our house is cosy but too small. We almost bought a huge split-level house with a massive garage but we were out bid. We still might buy Cheryl's parents place but we have to wait until August to see if anyone else buys it first. Its selling for $219,900 but her parents said they would sell it to us for $175,000. We don't want them to lose $30,000 but we also want the house. We will see how it goes. So far, after 2 months on the market they have had only 1 offer and that person backed out. Its over 3,000 sq/ft with 2 acres of land and a 2 car heated garage. We are hoping.
And then the big news.....on June 17th, I got a phone call from Proctor & Gamble. They are looking to hire 4 people and want me to come in for an interview. The interview went alright. The lady said she would let me know one way or another whether I got the job. The 2 years I spent there were for training purposes and to see if I was a good worker and a good fit for the company. I did very well when I was there so My hopes were high. She said they were looking for people to start on June 24th. So, every minute since the interview, I sat by the phone waiting, staying off the internet (dial-up) just incase she called. I heard nothing for a week and June 24 was approaching fast. I started to get depressed because I figured I screwed up the interview, but then she hadn't called me to say no...so it was an emotional rollercoaster. Then on June 24th, she called. She said they wanted me and I had to go sign the offer and take a physical. I went that morning, passed the physical and signed the offer. I am now a full time employee of Proctor & Gamble...WOOHOO!!!!!
The starting wage is $18.18/hour, full benefits coverage for the whole family, retirement plan, stocks and free work boots.
I get 1 week holidays this year and 3 weeks next year. 10 paid sick days, 24 hours paid personal time off and they give you $250 a year for physical activity purchases such as a gym membership, bicycles, weight sets, golf clubs....anything that helps keep you fit. Every 6 months for the first 2 years I'll get a 50 cent raise....then after the 2 years, they base your raises on performance.
I'm so happy....finally I have an excellent job with one of the biggest companies in the world. Plus they have product sales at the plant. I can buy a case of Pampers diapers, usually 80 diapers for $10. Tide laundry soap, the big box for 2 for $5, and now that they bought Gillette...all of there products as well.
So thats it.....things are going awsome right know in our life (finally) and I thought I'd share with some of my good friends on the best web site in the world.

O.K. BOY, here's a little advice.
If you want a house with a pool, then buy a house with a pool. DON'T put one in yourself. YOU, lose all the money, called, functional obsolecensce.

Well, for $4,500 I can buy and install a 24 foot above ground pool with deck. That includes all the sand, levelling the ground, the water to fill it up and all the goodies. If we buy the inlaws house, we will be there for a long time, the sucker is 1550 sq/ft upstairs and 1500 sq/ft downstairs. We won't run out of space in that house. Plus it has a 2 car heated garage.
Heres a pic...
and heres the link too the page... http://www.exitrealtyacceleration.c...60&Category=472
They will sell it to us for $175,000.

Btw, congratulations on the job and best of luck with the house. Hey, why not just offer her parents more than they've agreed to sell to you for and stop the whole selling process they're dragging themselves through now? I know it's alotta money, but it's not like you'll never benefit from it!

The problem is they change their minds every week. First its "o.k.", then its "lets wait a week" I getting a little pissed off about the whole thing, so we'll prolly just buy another house.
We looked at this one and its not bad. Its only 1450 sq/ft with a full unfinished basement, a huge yard (1.5 acres) and it already has an above ground pool. It has central air, central vac and the master bedroom has an ensuite. Its only a single car garage but its a very big single car garage.
