95 F-150 Engine Swap

I have a 95 F-150 Eddie Bauer, 302, 5Spd stick and I would like to swap the 302 for a 351W. The 302 just doesn't have any towing power for a car hauler. PPl have said to sell it but I happen to like the truck. I know that I have to get a 95 Windsor intake mainfold, distributor, computer, 302 flywheel (I maybe able to use the old one) etc for the sucker, any other things to look out for? Is it worth the trouble to make the conversion? I have on hand a 351W blue printed with edelbrock performer heads, stainless roller rockers, etc, the hole enchalada on this engine. I'm thinking of swapping the heads with GT-40 cast iron heads (on-hand) , the Edelbrock's are not the best use for truck engines. It might be easier to sell this one and build another just for this truck.

Why not re-gear, and do some exhaust work for the towing power?

Because the 302 should have never made it out of the Mustang and into a pickup truck. A nicely built 351 would be soooo much nicer than the anemic factory 302.

I would either soup up the 302 or go with the 351 swap. You'll have to use a 28 oz flywheel for the 351. 302's have come with a 50 oz. flywheel since 1983.

Scout around and find a complete 351 from a mid-90's F-250 or something like that.

...or drop some Vic Jr heads, Performer Intake, cam, bigger TB, MAF, injectors...etc...on the 302

Thought it was '82 ?

82 was the last of the 28 oz'ers

Sumsin like 82.5, was completely 50 oz...I think
