I do not know much about cars. Im planning to fix up my friends car real nice this christmas. It is a 1992 Camaro RS which is of course fuel injected. I thought it would be cool as shit to put a new ram air hood but I want it to do something. Being that the car is not carburated, would this make any sense at all? If it would make sense would someone please tell me what parts would work with the ram air to help performance as well as give me any advice as brands to look at for parts as well as any technical information.

thank you

If anything, ram air is even more effective with EFI than carbs.

Yes, ram air is very good for that year. Check out my firebird www.cardomain.com/id/redrambird . I put a functional one on also, but the difference between your camaro, is that if its fuel injected like tune port, with the pipes on top, then its a little harder, but can be done. Look into the later model firebird WS6 ramair kit, it puts it in a good spot for the hood. Mine was not carburated, but it was close, mine u just have to put on a round air cleaner, cuz its a round throttle body. Also it will make it sound like it has a turbo, and louder cooler sounding exhaust, aggressive.

Ram air is great for that year and it looks sharp on a third gen!

Hey Spenser, no flaming on the tech forums. Take it to The Pit if you want to talk smack.
