after i start my auto 85 vette up after its been sitting, and drive around, it shifts at an awfully high rpm. Then after it warms up it almost shifts too soon. Now i adjusted my TV cable to where it shifts decent enough for when its cold and warm. I figure it takes a while for the gear oil to heat up and not be so sluggish. Is there any way to fix this?

Well that is the 700R4 eh? It may be time for a rebuild, becareful with the TV cable if it is wrong it will burn it up. But you probably already knew that.

How many miles are on it?

135,000. Anyone know the proper way to set the cable? I've heard to open my butterflys all the way and set it from there. But i dont know.

I can't remeber but my 700R4 made it 132,000 and I was thrilled. Do you know the service history of the transmission?
