I wish I knew about these cool little item's a long time ago , electric water pumps are a great invention. I dont understand why more muscle car owners dont switch over to electric, instead of the power robbing belt driven pumps. I have not heard any thing negative (yet) about them, some are rated at 10,000 hours of use. The prices range from 80-500$ and I plan to buy one, and I will report its performance.

Most guys do not get them because they are not into real hard core performance, they think a cars with headers, catback, and cold air intakes are fast.

electric is all fine and good if you are hard core track racing but for street use they are not well suited.they are made to run a few minutes at a time,i ran one on my big block on the street and it over heated all the time ...not to mention the major drain on the charging system.the water pump acctualy pulled more power then the alternator could put out.....unless you are goin to track only race i say go with the manual pump the few HP need to run it will be worth it rather then the electrical drain and overheating risk...if the few HP are what you are looking for ,look into doing away with the power steering.you can hear that thing pulling the engine down.
just my 2 1/2 cents
