Hey boys and girls,
Anyone having oil pressure trouble with the LT1 in a late model camaro? It runs great, sounds great but when warm reads low. The manual says minumum of 6 psi at 1000 rpm. That is close but still concerned. I installed a manual guage to be certain and it is close. Any guesses or experience will be appreciated. I feel the mains and rod bearings are OK. Thinking oil pump but am not sure.

Definatly too low. Have it checked out ASAP! Anything below 25 psi to me @ idle is TOO low! Also needs to be hitting the 60 psi range at WOT.

My LT1 gets bout 25-30 PSI whe warm at Idle and around 60 at WOT.
Thats very low what you have, does it make any noises, or does it have metal flakes in it?

No, It sounds good. The manual says 6psi is normal at 1000 rpm. At wot I think it runs about 40-50. No flakes or particles in oil. Never runs hot. I am mystified. Do you think an oil pump could be the problem????

Are there any aftermarket headers that make the plugs easier to change in 95 LT!???

Pretty much any full lenght header will make it a breeze. Stay away from shorties, theyre not much better than stock manifolds. I have Pacesetters, and the #8 plug is now the easiest to get to if that tells you anything
