How much horsepower is 2 much for a 3rd gen camaro w/ t-tops??

It depends on how well the car hooks. Massive torque+traction=Massive body flex. If the car is street driven and does not see much dragstrip action, you can push the envelope further. Any well built engine should be complemented by at least a GOOD set of subframe connectors. A cage would be a good idea if the car is in the 450+ ft/lb range.
Just my opinion.
