What do you think of the nikon d50? I've read alot of good things about it and am thinking of plunking down the $ on one. Do you think the standard 18-55mm lense will do good closeup shots? I read it has a minimum focal length of 11".

Its been a long time since I've used an SLR, so I'm a bit rusty with all this photographical lingo.

I know a little about the D70 and the D100 as my Brother in law has both. I'm sure the D50 is a great camera as well. Go for it!

You'll probably need a better lense for macro shots.

According to these sample shots, it looks like it takes really nice pictures...check this one out for instance...butt most of you guys would probably like this one a little better.
