1494 Leak Detection Pump (LDP) pressure switch problem - electrical or the pump itself.

What the fock is a Leak Detection Pump and where is it even located ?

Got to get this fixed so the car will pas an emissions inspection.

Thats part of the evap. emmisions system, prolly a bad solenoid, pump or somthing. Check all the fuses, sometimes one will burn out and cause havoc in that system. Or maybe a broken or cracked hose leaking vacuum. I hate those damn evap codes, pain in the ass to track down. Sometimes its somthing as simple as a loose or broken gas cap.
Good luck.

If it was a loose gas cap, will the SES light go back off after a little while with the cap tight ?

If that was the cause, then yes, it should go off after a few starts and warm up cycles. You could pull the PCM fuse or disconnect the battery for a few minutes, that should reset it. But it would take another few starts and warm up and cool down cycles to get the On board systems monitors into their "ready" state. So it all depends on when your gonna have it inspected. If the on-board monitors arent ready theyll make you drive it around for a while, maybe a day or two untill they are ready(meaning every system checked good: heated o2s, egr, evap systems, misfire detection etc)

Hope that helps
