No, youd have to be listening to 80s hair bands in order to properly pimp an IROC.
For now, youll have to go ahead and trade it in for an F150 or Silverado.

PS Johnny Cash Kicks ass!!!

I've got the same problem. I used to hate country music...until the local rock stations started selling themselves and becoming Mexican music, and what's left over is just the same stuff played 10 times a day...so I forced myself to listen to country for a change of pace, and I think I like it. I went out and picked up Toby Keith's new CD and Trent Tomlinson's debut album to add some variety to my ipod. I'm kid of surprised that with a population of probably close to 3 million or more people, here in the South SF Bay area, there's only one country station, 3 rock stations, and of course about a dozen or so spanish stations and growing.

I listen to 80's rock sometimes... I'm considereing an LS1 F-body. No really, I am. I won't buy one, but I considered it. I listen to country music as much or more and imo, it's better today than ever before, and better than the "best" rock music has offered since about 1991. Trace Adkins has it goin' on fellas. He's the Randy Travis of this decade... Only problem is, Randy Travis still sings too. George Straight, known among his peers as "King George" is kinda growin' old to me. He's a great singer, but it's old news. About every song he does goes to #1. He's got more number one singles than most rock groups get songs on the Top 20 chart at all. I want Garth Brooks and Clint Black to re-enter the scene. Garth makes most "rockers" look like schoolgirls on stage. I miss that wildman aspect of country, even with guys like Toby Keith all over the charts. Still, overall.. Country music is great. I like rock-n-roll, but if it wasn't made prior to 1992, there's little about it I care for. Country's not all about getting your dog or wife back, or getting revenge or screaming as if you might break into song at some point, yet never really doing it... it's about fun and reality(or both).

He Looks like his grandpa, sounds like his grandpa, but his songs are very explicit for country music....I Believe he may be the first country artist to ever make a country album that had an explicit advisory warning label attached to it...

Oh yeah? Ever heard of DAC? That's David Allen Coe and he's more "outlaw" than was Waylon or Willie.

Hmm... Sounds more like todays excuse for rock-n-roll, but that isn't what country music is about at all.

No wonder I've never heard of him.

You gotta put it in perspective. Read the lyrics to this song:

Early one mornin' while makin' the rounds
I took a shot of cocaine and I shot my woman down
I went right home and I went to bed
I stuck that lovin' .44 beneath my head

Got up next mornin' and I grabbed that gun
Took a shot of cocaine and away I run
Made a good run but I ran too slow
They overtook me down in Juarez, Mexico

Late in the hot joints takin' the pills
In walked the sheriff from Jericho Hill
He said Willy Lee your name is not Jack Brown
You're the dirty heck that shot your woman down

Said yes, oh yes my name is Willy Lee
If you've got the warrant just a-read it to me
Shot her down because she made me sore
I thought I was her daddy but she had five more

When I was arrested I was dressed in black
They put me on a train and they took me back
Had no friend for to go my bail
They slapped my dried up carcass in that county jail

Early next mornin' bout a half past nine
I spied the sheriff coming down the line
Ah, and he coughed as he cleared his throat
He said come on you dirty heck into that district court

Into the courtroom my trial began
Where I was handled by twelve honest men
Just before the jury started out
I saw the little judge commence to look about

In about five minutes in walked the man
Holding the verdict in his right hand
The verdict read murder in the first degree
I hollered Lawdy Lawdy, have a mercy on me

The judge he smiled as he picked up his pen
99 years in the Folsom pen
99 years underneath that ground
I can't forget the day I shot that bad bitch down

Come on you've gotta listen unto me
Lay off that whiskey and let that cocaine be

That's Cocaine Blues written by TJ Arnall and made famous by Johnny Cash especially on his At Folsom Prison album which was recorded live at a prison concert. Reading those lyrics and realizing that that song was sung by Cash and hit the mainstream in the late 50's and early 60's, those lyrics were ghastly compared to what was out there at the time.

Then you look at Folsom Prison Blues which Cash wrote while in the Air Force. It was released in 1958 and when people heard that line "I shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die." That had major cultural impact.

Johnny Cash may seem tame by today's gansta rap standards but by God, he was a badass through and through, full of piss and vinegar and about as outlaw as one could get in the 50's and 60's. Hell, the guy took his wife to Vietnam and played concerts for the soldiers so close to the front lines that they had actually been shelled on several occasions. I'd like to see some of these so called "badasses" go and do that and the write a song about it!

Oh and one more thing, think about this one, there never would have been an Elvis if it wasn't for Johnny Cash.

All of your favorite modern rock and country music has both direct and indirect influences from Johnny Cash. I highly doubt that there has EVER been a single man with more impact in the music industry as a whole as Johnny Cash.

If you want a real treat, pick up the VH1 Storytellers album with The Man In Black and The Red Headed Stranger. Johnny and Willie, I never saw a concert that I so badly wanted to be at. There was over 100 years of music industry experience and influece on that stage and there was only two guys and a guitar.

As far as country music to listen to, I'll agree with George Strait is a must have. Especially the song "All My Ex's Live In Texas". Oh and "Love Without End, Amen", that one has impact and it's gotta be the simplest song I've ever heard.

Some of the better modern stuff comes out of the likes of Alan Jackson or Montgomery Gentry. Then there is guys like Joe Diffie who just doesn't take himself so seriously. He has hits like "Pickup Man" and "Prop Me Up Beside The Jukebox".

If you want some "badass" modern stuff, pick up some Big and Rich, those guys are a blast to listen to and thier concerts are really high voltage!

But the absolute BEST part of country music is the women! You will never find a better looking woman in any other genre of music. They are F I N E, FINE! You got the heavy hitters like Faith Hill, Tammy Wynette and Shania Twain but then you got some lesser known hotties like Deana Carter, Mindy McCready, Lee Ann Womack (she's in her 40's and she still looks better than most chicks half her age!) and younger newcomers like Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood or Ashley Monroe! Man, some nights CMT is unbearable to watch 'cause it's hot chick after hot chick singing about some stupid shit of a guy treatin' her like crap!
