OK, this is a new thing to try and inspire conversation here because it's obvious that there are door nails more alive than this place! These polls have two options. Each one is a car and they are pitted against each other. The only thing you can't consider is financial things such as how much it is worth or how much it cost new. In other words, money is no object so it should not enter the discussion at any time. Otherwise, pick teh damn things apart, compare them every which way from Sunday and just have fun! BTW, "modifications" are a non-factor also. The cars are to be compared and contrasted as they were when the rolled off the showroom floor.
Hopefully this will spark some conversation and y'all might learn something too!
So what you want to do is choose your car in the poll and then post as to why you chose that car over the other. Simple concept. Lets see if you fucknuts can manage NOT to screw it up!
So here's the first one! A Jag and a Chebby!
Have fun!

I'll take the Jag. Those things just look AWESOME, plus you've got the "WOW" factor because they're rarer around here.

Vette! Jags are for fags! :flip:

I would pick the vette. I just like the looks of it better. The jag is too exotic for my deeply hidden redneck agenda. Mr. P you should find the blink 182 version of deadman's curve

Very tough call. Two of the prettiest large displacement sports cars out there. The thought of dealing with Lucas electronics ever again almost made me go with the 'Vette, but the Jaguar has got the edge in looks and handling. While I haven't driven either one, the Jag looks like the sort that it would be the most fun to put through its paces on a winding country road.

While I do think the 63-67 Corvette is the best looking Corvette bodystyle and one can't argue that the 'Vettes from those years are some of the best performing 'Vettes too, I have to forsake it in favor of the Jag.
Sure, the Lucas electronics are a head ache. Yeah it's a smaller car with a smaller engine but it goes around turns so well! The 63 'Vette was groundbreaking in styling. Nothing looked like it until then and even after it went away in 67, nothing has looked like it since. The 'Vette has a rich racing heritage and it has been a very successful platform. So has the Jag. The 'Vette has the rumbling V8 and excessive amounts of power on tap. The Jag isn't that powerful but it's light so it scoots very well. That 3.8 has a screaming growl that just sends tingling up your spine.
While they are on pretty equal footing in the sense that they are both visceral, hardcore sports cars with deep racing heritage and they are both an experience to drive or even just look at, the Jag has a soul to it. The 'Vette has a passion. A uniquly American passion of balls to the wall performance. It takes the racing aristocracy and not only soundly beats them at thier game but does while shouting a rebellious yell as the roaring exhaust note from 327-427 cubic inches of displacement pummels the competition in to submission. The Jag has a finesse though. There is feeling there that makes it seem like something more than just a car. There is a quiet dignity in the look and feel. The design of the car is so elegant that it is one of only 3 cars ever included in the collection of art at the Museum of Modern Art. The Jag isn't just about performance like the 'Vette. The 'Vette will do everything the Jag can do and do it better in alot of respects while looking good doing it. But the Jag, the Jag is a river's car. It doesn't forget that there is a squishy meat-bag behind the wheel and it doesn't beat the driver up. The experience of the 'Vette's hardcore performance is still there but the Jag has an elegance about it. It's like the difference between the small, precision sewing machine of an upholsterer to the big, powerful mechanical loom machines for mass production. They both get a job done well but it's two diffierent approaches to the same ends.
The 'Vette has beauty, performance and passion. The Jag has all of that too but it adds refinement and elegance to the package.
I'll take the Jag.

In my part of the world, the only time youll see a twisty road is at a Taco Bell drive thru So handling isnt a factor. European imports have never appealed to me either. A split window Stingray is just 10X better looking, sounding, and carries that American Iron nostalgia that I can never get enough of.
