First a little about my problem. I am putting a 15 year hotrod project together. The frame is completley custom built The motor mount supports and trans crossmember were allready fabricated and installed. Now I have to install a motor and transmission using them

Actually I am looking for some knowledgable support noone will disagree with the owner of this project and I need to draw a line. Or walk

My question is this, the fabricated parts fit inside the frame rails and are bolted THRU the frame with washers on the outside of the frame tubes (2"X 6" tube). After hours of arguing with the owner I cannot convince him that tightening those bolts is going to squeeze the frame tube and never achieve a proper cinch so to speak between the plate and the frame. My advice is to drill a bigger hole on the outside of the frame tube and put the bolts inside the frame tighting against the inside of the frame rail to the mount plate of the C/member and M/M supports. OR welding a tube thru the frame for each bolt. The frame however is painted so welding is really not an option unfortunatley.

I wouldnt really care if it were a briggs motor that is to be in this frame. The motor I am putting in I just picked up from chrfab.com a mile or two from sandiego. 30,000 dollars worth of 671 blown injected northstar.

Thanks for any support on this heck thanks for reading this dribble hehe,

Jay =)
