Is there any new rock bands out there that has harmonicas, brass instruments, saxaphones, or possibly orchastra type background done to heavy metal or some hard rock sound along with the drums and guitars?? Kinda like what Aerosmith and G&R did...But something new.....I also don't mind to find something along the lines, like how The Dave Matthews Band put different types of sounds together as well....if anymore exist....

There are still bands like that out there? I thought singing had been replaced by cookie monster growls and dog barks, while melody had been replaced by an attempt to be the guy to tune a guitar lower than it ever had been before.

Los Lonely Boys has a different sound and I think they have a new album out if not coming out very shortly. Talented guys with 3 part harmonies in some of thier songs. Very different sound with definte hard blues roots. They have a bar band feel and are classified as country music but decidedly rock and roll. Since they are of Mexican descent, they have that mariachi(sp) band sound to thier voices.

I'll put it this way, take Stevie Ray Vaughn, put him in a band with Los Lobos and tell them to start playing songs written by a guy with Willine Nelson's talent for lyrics and John Phillips talent for harmonies and you have Los Lonely Boys. I one heard them called Willie Nelson's favorite local band.

They have two albums out:

Los Lonely Boys which had thier breakout hit Heaven is a very impressive first album. They have a maturity to thier music that shows they have been playing for years. they just click. By the way, Heaven, which was a pretty good song, is the worst one on the album.

Sacred is thier second album and I haven't heard it yet but it has gotten good critical reviews with the biggest detractions being about the approach to the album being a little less than professional. Personally, I can't knock a band for having fun.
