So how 'bout dem Cowboys?

I didn't think Indy's first loss would have come from them and honestly the way they had been playing, I figured they'd be 5 and 5 too. But honestly, that was the best I have seen them play all season long and probably the last 3-4 years too. If they played every game like that, they'd be team getting to the SB. I don't think they are getting there this year and unless NY chokes big time, they won't even make it to the NFC Championship game. However, as it stands now, they would be the wild card against Seattle and I think they would beat them. If they retain everyone for next year with injuries to a minimum, they are going to be an SB contender, no doubt!

But that's next year and things change.

Indy did play well though. It was an awesome game! They didn't lose a step from any other week, they just got out played. The best NFC team they played before Dallas was the NY Giants and they played them when NY was struggling. The Pats and Broncos were the toughest teams from the AFC so far and I thought the Pats would have dumped all over them but they didn't. The Colts look to have a fairly rough 2nd half of the season too but they still have Jacksonville, Cincinnati and I think Miami is going to give them a bit of a run too. Philly was going to definitly be a tough one especially with thier fairly strong running game but without McNabb, who knows now.

Philly though, talk about a heartbreaker! McNabb out for the season, laid up 8-12 months with a wicked ACL tear. He won't even start the season next year and may not play until December, if he even comes back at all. Philly's season is over. They still have to play the big D again on Christmas and it looks like without McNabb, they aren't going to do it. Garcia can't get the job done IMO. If they go with him that is. 3rd stringer is just as questionable.

I didn't catch many other games this week so how did everybody's team do?

It's what I've been trying to tell you all along John about the NFL....Never overlook those bottom dwelling TEAMS, because they can surely surprise you on any given Sunday and a win against a strong team, can change the whole outlook of that team in upcoming games....

What bottom dwelling team are you talking about? The Dallas Cowboys? They are ranked in the top 10 in the NFC. Not exactly bottom dwelling.

Well, my team, The Chargers, suprised me. I didn't think they had a chance against Denver. Especially, up in Denver where they hadn't won in 5 years.

I have to hand it to Marty, he has turned over ALL the play calling to Cam Cameron. He also said, if I say something about a particular play, you DON'T have to listen to me. This was after that HORRIBLE lose to the Ravens.

Marty ball just doesn't play well in San Diego anymore. He took a beating in the media for a couple weeks after that Raven game.

When they get all their players back on defense, look out. I think they have the players to go all the way. ONLY, if Marty stays out of the play calling.

Well, they were 5 and 4 before that win, one win above even.... basically could have been tied for second to last in their division, right along with Philly....teams like the Cardinals, who should have beat the Bears.. was up for the game, but choked... bottom dwelling teams like the Dolphins who did beat the Bears...You just can't count any team out on Sunday....Like you can't count Detroit out on Thanksgiving Day.....I made that comment, because you didn't think the Cowboys could really pull it off.....

No, no, no. I didn't think the Cowboys didn't have a chance at beating the Colts. I knew the Cowboys would be difficult for the Colts but I thought the Colts' first loss would have come at the hands of the Patriots, not the Cowboys. I think Philly has a good chance of beating the Colts provided they can keep the Colts offense off the feild. But honestly, the Colts are still ranked No. 2 in the league and the Cowboys are number 6. All logic says to favor the Colts in the matchup.

Da Bears are number 1 with the same record as the Colts but with more points fielded and less allowed than the Colts. The Bears put up better numbers. So the spread would favor the Bears in that matchup.

Then again, in the power rankings, the Eagles dropped to 20th this week. The Ole Man's Chargers are tops at the number 1 spot in the power rankings this week.

So you can go on with your devil's advocate "any given Sunday speech" but with the way the 'Boys were playing the past few weeks, if they showed up to play the same way, the Colts had that one in the bag. It was a nice surprise to see them play almost to thier full potential.

I'm sure with that win, if they don't let it go to their head....You'll see those same Cowboys play like that here on out....

Now that Dallas dumped Bledsoe, they are good.

Just like what the Pats did... Bledsoe is a decent guy, but he can't lead a team anywhere.

Dallas is looking awfully tough... may give Da Bears a run for their money in the NFC championship game

Bledsoe's biggest problem is that he takes too long waiting for a cherry play to develop. The Dallas O-line is quite good this year but thier numbers don't show it. That's because while Bledsoe waits for an engraved invitation to throw the damn ball, the pocket crumbles around him. By the time he actually does throw it, the play is all over because everyone knows where the ball is going. The only saving grace to Bledsoe is that he has a cannon for an arm. Bledsoe could kill the performance of any offensive line. It's a shame too. Otherwise, he's a good QB and he fits Parcells' style of play very well.

Then again, Romo fits it well too. It's pretty much how Romo played college ball.

I don't know about Dallas playing the Bears for the NFC Champs. Dallas has to get passed the Giants and Carolina. The Seahawks are starting thier swan song and seem to be coming apart at the seams. Dallas beat Carolina once already and pretty soundly too. The Giants though. They look good but they get sloppy at times. If they do play Dallas, get sloppy and Dallas can capitalize then yeah, they'll face the Bears but I think the Giants and Bears are going to duke it out for the NFC Champ spot.

Dallas plays TB tomorrow though and TB isn't so good but Dallas has served up stupid losses to bad teams before like the Redskins. I wouldn't put it passed them to pull another boner and blow it against the Bucs.

Did the Bucs show up or what???!?? Man, they are terrible this year.....
