Anyone know where I can find the write-up that SVOno5oh did several years ago, to compare air filters? I've searched the forums, but I guess a bunch of the old posts got removed?

Yeah, I remember the oil filter test, too. I don't remember a whole lot about it, except that Mobil1 came out on top.

I was wrong about the Mobil 1...here's the oil filter study:

It turns out the Purolator Pure One came out on top as far as filtration goes. Mobil 1 is very good, but prone to cracking under high pressure.

These two sites aren't necessarily scientific but what they do provide is a general overview of what makes a good filter. There are other research labs out there with published results that are thick and difficult reading. You can find them on Google easily enough.

I remember SVOno5oh's "studies" and while he did do a good deal of work and "testing", I wouldn't call it scientific. He came up with a good deal of info but his work seems to contradict studies done by several other research labs which had much more consistient results combined with base information to compare testing results with.

You suck Slow Nova! Here I am doing all the research on Google to find all the studies we referenced previously and you go and post the first one right under my nose!
