OMG, hahaha thats great

Reminds me, a week ago i saw a pretty cute girl driving a Mustang II in decent shape... just really weird to see one of those things on the road, and even weirder to see a hot chick driving one instead of some middleaged balding dude

I've seen that beast before. It's pretty wild what can happen when you mix an old car, an old 4x4, a keg or 10 of beer, and redneck know how.

As for the Mustang II, a friend of mine has one of these in his backyard, except in blue.

It used to have a 4bbl 289 and toploader from a 66 Stang in it. Damn thing moved down the road pretty good. He has even found a complete set of NOS decals for it.

There are a lot of Mustang II in Washington hardly any rust out here. The one at the top...Pretty cool!

I love the IIs. One of my friends from high school had one with T tops and a 302 he got for like $800. He put racing stripes on it...... with CAMOUFLAGE DUCT TAPE.

Remember the Monroe Handler peeps??

Well, that doesn't look too bad. If it had a different front fascia, it'd look good!

The Mustang II always looked a little chunky in street trim, but they made great race cars (some faster than others!)

This is Charlie Kemp’s Mustang II that was fast enough to sit as # 11 on the 1977 Daytona Finale 250 Miles.

Here are a few of the cars that sat behind him on the grid.

Porsche 934 Interscope Racing, turbocharged Porwshe 934 with 2994 cc #12
Chevrolet Monza #20
Porsche 934 #19
Jaguar XJS – Jaguar V12 5342cc #13
Ferrari 365 GTB/4 – Ferrari V12 4390cc #34

The event was won by a turbocharged washing machine with 2994 cc, who started 6th on the grid and finished two laps ahead of the next closest car. The driver was cough, cough, Al Holbert !

Mustang II's are probably one of if not the THE lightest Mustang ever put together. The 302 roller cam blocks from the 90's drop in with little fan fare and there is a ton of aftermarket goodies out there for the front suspension because hot rodders have been using the Mustang II front clip for decades. They are certainly an underdog sleeper right up there with the Mavericks and Grabbers. Pintos have lost some of thier sleeper status but IIRC, the Mustang II, Maverick and Pinto all share similar underpinnings. Defintely a very under-rated performance platform with a good deal of potential. They make great drag cars and if you can get the suspension sorted out, they are light enough and balanced enough to be good autox cars.

Not to mention you can jack them up sky high and run over Honduhs with them!
