Just about broke EVEN............. took a CHANCE and put some money down on the Golden Boy just in case ( close to 2:1 odds on him ). My ticket cost me $1,250.
The fight went just about the way I thought it would go. Alot of dancing around by Pretty Boy, move in for a flurry and get out of the way again.
It was like a WHO'S WHO of the world at the fight though. I talked to Ron Howard on an elevator. That BOY looks BAD in person. Has a good sense of humor though and very polite. Wasn't offended at all by a couple of DRUNKS
The crowd was pretty BAD............. alot of fights broke out, alot of beer throwing and HO's everwhere

The fight went exactly as I thought it would. De La Hoya was out of the ring too long. If he didn't beat Mayweather by the 3rd or 4th round, he was going to get tired. He scored lots of points early and about the 5th round, he was done and Mayweather had him beat.
De La Hoya is a better technical fighter and I think his training paid off to keep the fight alive so long. But he was out of the ring too long. While training can help the physical stamina, there is a mental side of it and you have to be on your game. Mayweather has been fighting alot more regularly and he just had a prescence in the ring. It was a good fight. Well, at least from my perspective. It wasn't dirty and each fighter was using tactics and training and exploiting each others weaknesses. They both came prepared. It was a marathon on who was going to make it to the end. Mayweather just had more strength in him.
Althought I gotta say I had more fun watching the Kentucky Derby and for once in my horse race betting career, I was dead on and picked Street Sense. Won about $20 bucks. The race went off with Street Sense getting 9:2 odds and I put $2 down for the win. Won $18. My mom got the exacta box with a couple other people from work. On a $6 bet, they pulled in something like $105 each. Wish I had dumped a grand on it. I'd have been able to pay off some debt.
