My biggest mistake...

Was getting rid of my baby!

Low/mid 13's with bolt ons and the stock gears and stock converter. Not many L-98's were doing that at that time. I wish I had kept it. My LS1's may have been faster... but I really loved that car.

Anybody else ever make a mistake like that on a car that they really loved?

Yep, in 1970 when I got back from Viet Nam I had a pocket full of CASH. I wnet down to the local Plymouth dealer and bought a brand new 426 Hemi Cuda. After 4 tickets in less than 6 months, I had to sell it. Couldn't afford the insurance anymore. Wish I had it back.

I miss my '94 Thunderbird.

The ONLY reason I got rid of it was because it had a 3.8L V6 that liked to snack on head gaskets and being 24 with a shitload of school debt and not a whole lot of cash to blow on replacing engines almost yearly, I had to forsake it for want of a more reliable vehicle. It was replaced with the Lightning so I guess it was fair. But man, I miss it! For a big heavy car, it cornered like it was on rails. Wasn't blisteringly fast but it would get moving quick enough for a cushy commuter vehicle. It was a LAZ-E-BOY on wheels too! And that paint! Color changing and with the big chrome wheels, it got looks everywhere it went. I was going to look it up and see if I could go find it and buy it back but alas, the VIN came up on a salvage title. My purty 'bird was totalled in 2002.

I still have this though!

and even though that's a photoshop, it will look like this by the end of summer this year. I have all the parts, just waiting for the dropped I-beams and a compressor that are on back order.

I think I miss the Ole Man's Hemi Cuda the most. I wish I had it too.

Jay, you can't go a month without posting about your bolt on L98 can ya

I don't have any car regrets yet.

If I would have kept my $600 '86 Celica (slow, but great mileage and fun to drive) the radiator would have blown up on me (it blew up on the guy my friend sold the car to).

I've still got the $550 ZX, but the floor's basically not there anymore. I put a battery in it today and it fired right up. I stopped driving it because I was afraid the back half would fall off at 60mph some day. Too much rust. I want another one. I pulled 29mpg in it for a solid month once, and that inline 6 with no exhaust system is the sweetest sound ever.

I've still got the $650 Turbo Van, it sports a Garrett T3 that burns oil and a manual transmission now. New tires last week, 24mpg on my first full tank with the 5spd. If I can't get it up to 25+, I'm going to have to get something that gets better mileage. Gas kills me.

Maybe I need to have a more expensive toy to regret selling it later?

I kinda wish I still had my 92 Excel... 35mpg was no problem for that BEAST! Aside from that, not too much for regrets. With fuel being well over $3 a gallon now, all I regret is not having stored about 3 million gallons for future use!

Hey, it's been at least a month and a half now!

Come over and see my bucket fag, maybe that will get ya a little motivation to get something going!

btw, we all met up at the Lakeland Winghouse last Saturday and those who were married brought their wives too, it was pretty cool. Later we moved to the old BooksAMillion spot. We probably had about 30 or so Camaros, Trans Ams, Firebirds, Cobras and GTs. I of course had to bring the 350Z since my bucket isn't ready yet.

I didn't stick around long enough to go with the others who left for some extra curricular activities.

Well, I don't think I was invited, so I didn't make it out!

You've been invited to the house and you haven't came through with that either! What do you have to say about that?

Hey, I tried to come by the other day and you said you wouldn't be home!

I would have liked to have kept the '80 Malibu. I had a good plan for that car that included a 383 and a two stage nitrous kit. Wife said "NO!" so I had to sell it.
She wanted a Grand Marquis and she said something about me not needing more than one hotrod. Idunno what she was thinkin'!
And I really liked the '97 Thunderbird just the way it was. I'da kept that one but ... I kinda crashed it.
But both of those were my wife's and that was that.
I regret selling my wife's Grand Marquis! But that's only because the Focus we bought, last month, to replace it, has already been hit!
