Actually they don't The toxic shit is the mercury in the new bulbs that the morons in charge of congress are pushing us to use. The argument against the old bulbs is that they use more power to put out the same level of light. For someone who claims to be so informed on this issue you really don't know shit.

Todays new lightbulbs are a concern. Incandescent bulbs of the past have proven SAFER for our world, and many people won't make the switch to have a longer lasting bulb, let alone one that doesn't illuminate as well in matching wattage... Without the health concern, they don't.
And then there's the idea these new bulbs, ALL of which are "made in CHINA" and NONE of which are "Made in America," will be REQUIRED for use in AMERICA, by 2014... Why, you'll be like ...25 by then! But you won't be able to enjoy an Edison designed light source, MADE IN AMERICA by then... Will the fine people of China also be forced by their government to use these bulbs? HELL NO!!!
These "CFL" bulbs contain MERCURY, a KNOWN killer! Yet we're supposed to use them as our ONLY light in the home? They also cost FAR MORE than a standard bulb, and more, even when considering the length of time they'll last.
Only an idiot would think the idea is a good one, period.

You fucking idiot, you dont even know the bull shit argument you are trying to make. Ill help you out, the old fashioned light bulbs that SUPOSIDLY cause global warming use more energy so in stupid ass global warming theories, they have to burn more coal and emit more CO2 into the atmosphere.
This is a bunch of bull shit (I and everyone else here knows it). I actually use the new kind of light bulbs cause they put out less heat and last longer, but if I choose to use the old style light bulbs it should be my choice.

Simple Solution, Run LED Bulbs....Last much longer than CFL Bulbs, contains no mercury and cost much less to run....
