what kind of header material/coating is best? how do they react differently?
i'm looking at stainless steel, nickel/chromed, and ceramic coated.

It may but it hasn't happened to any that I have seen. Just make sure you get a quality set.

UnderdogGT, titanium headers do exist. They're usually only found in money is no object type race cars, but I'm not sure titanium would be the best choice. I'd use a nickle based material like Inconel if I were designing a header on a very high budget.

I thought about that. The only reason I mentioned ti because it's used in the motorcycle aftermarket ALOT !

Stainless will rust not that I have ever heard of.
