Anyone tried these tires yet? What tires are you running @ AutoX

I don't know anything about Nitto, sorry. Thought I'd share a little experience anyway...

for just about all tarmac rallying, circuit racing and motokhana work I've done, I have used Falken Azenis R. They are not expensive and offer excellent grip without wearing so fast they can't be driven on the street.

I have also bought a swag of Hankook (yep, sounds like rubbish!) semi-slicks for next to nothing. They were past shelf life and were being sold with no waranty. I bought four and tried them and found that after a "warm up" they are very, very good tyres. A group of use bought about 60 tyres between us and they are being used on all sorts of cars for all sorts of motorsport. Some of mine have even been used on a mate's drag car.

There are also many Dunlop and Yokohama semi-slick tyres around, all have great reports. What makes them even better is that they are a slick with some tread cuts and are highway legal (certainly here and the UK so I imagine the US and Canada as well)

I run Silverstone rally tyres on the forest (ProRally) car and even they have now released a few tarmac versions, both treaded and slick.

I guess the best advice is, "suck it and see"... do your first event(s) on street tyres and check what other people are using, how much they pay and whether or not deals are available for competitors. I struck deals with two suppliers by running their sineage on the cars (I had two competition cars) and it saved me a lot of money!
