What would I all have to do if I took a 305 from an 82 Camero and put it in an 87 S10 Extended Cab long box? I know the basics of un hook hook everything back up but is there anything else that I need to know? Will everything match up? What do I need to change?:roll:

Get the adjustable motor mounts, and run an old ball bearing style distributor cuz the HEI junk is a bitch unless you do some 'clearancing' on the firewall. Also camaro shorty headers work fine... The S-10 specific ones cost more.

Get a 4 core aluminum rad. Cooling an SBC S-truck is an issue, especially if you live in S.Ontario. You can go with a flex fan or an electric fan or both.(preferred) 'clearancing' is required around the firewall and the floorpan seam. Don't forget to swap the speedo gears as well.

BTW, you can use the camaro manifolds but you have to remove the steering mount plate screws(inside) and rotate the shaft a little to get it to clear the manifolds, then redrill holes for the screws. Use a short nosed starter too.(I got a heavy duty one for mine from an s10 blazer 4x4) You won't have to mod the x-member this way.
