I will be ordering a new gear set with the next pay. What are your opinions, 410 or 430? Is there really that big of a difference between the two ratios?

Is this a car you are driving everyday? If so those gears seem a little much.

Everday driver, little highway use. You really think even 410 would be too much? I have read other post where 373 owners were un happy with there swap... I am starting to think that the SOHC 4.6 should be at least at a 373 gear.

4:10's all the way..get 3:73's on a modular and you'll regret it IMO.....4:30's are o.k if you don't mind the extra money for gas or if the car's not your main means of transport(work, grocery getter,ect...)

SOHC Mods seem to love the 4.10's

If it was a DOHC, I'd say 4.30's

I think 410's are the way to go for my application, but there is a 00 GT in Jacksonville Fla. putting down some insane numbers with 4:30's. But I think that MERCZEPHYR may be on the right track. I believe that a stock 01 GT would be better off higher in the RPM band.

All automotive engines in production have valves, except Mazda Rotories...
