Redline?

I have a question...I dont quite understand the redline on my car. How come my redline is at just under 5000 rpms and a Civics is at 7000 rpms? I have a V6 and thats a 4 Cylinder? Wouldnt my redline be higher????
i dont understand this at all? Someone please explain it to me

Errr.... check the stroke, piston speed, valve gear, etc...

For that matter, the engine may have a very restrictive intake and exhaust, so it just "runs out of breath" by 5,000 RPM.

Shorter stroke: less piston speed
Longer stroke: more piston speed
Measured in F.P.M. which means feet per minute.
