What type of manual transmissions are in the Cougar XR-7's and T-Bird SC's? I was going to hook a dude up with my Hurst shifter off of my T-5, but they aren't anywhere close!

Something from Mazda, maybe??

I checked into it and based on what I saw the XR-7 (I don't know about the SC) was only available with a manual in 89 and 90. It is a Mazda M5R2. I *think* it was also their truck transmission. I don't really know anything about it.

should be a t-5 if not its a zf or mazda box.

M5R-2 is what that little sucker is!

I just found an exploded view of the thing and it's identical right down to the goofy shifter.
