It cranked up today, and that slant six sounds pretty mean. The exhaust note with the turbo and glasspack is kind of a growl, definitely neither the rumble of a V8 nor the bumblebee buzz of a Honda. There are a few issues I want to fix before considering it roadworthy - I need to get the MSD BTM running or put on a vacuum advance unit with a pressure retard, and I need longer wheel studs for the back - but it's reached a very important milestone and it's going to be hitting the road soon.

Keep on keepin' on (a 70's thing)... Hope it turns out to bne what ya want and had in mind all the while. "Running" is a big step all by itself. Congrats.

Sweet dude! Been waiting along time for this. Now get some decent pics of the whole deal and make some mp3's of the exhaust. Or better yet just make a video.

I agree with all of the above posts regarding pictures and various other media.

Congrats on the startup. But I still think you need that 'Tona radiator to use so you can intercool that thing. And just as luck would have it, I'll be moving back to Atlanta and bringing one with me in a month or so..... Anin't that a co-inky-dink? :btg:

The intercooler will come once it's running and at my place so I can work on it nights. Is the Daytona radiator for an automatic transmission? Got to have the trans cooler...

buy a seperate one. When I intercooled my Daytona Pacifica, I got a RV one for 35 bucks. That tranny lasted a long time.

I have a couple of low compression (8.2 and 8.6) smallblock V-8's, a 318 and a 360, which I'm considering a possibility of twin turboing.
Both are built a little nasty, camwise, and since I have a T-1 Daytona for a daily driver, I've come to love turbocharging, so
I've been toying with the idea of a twin turbo setup for one or both of the V8's.

anyone explain why 2 runners are curved?
Posted by: Grape Ape
Couldbe a few different things... Maybe they were limited by space where those two runners would've gone...
Posted by: BigBluOx
I'll throw a couple guesses out there and say either for fuel distribution reasons within the manifold, or looks (maybe mis-read the manifold ports prior to build and mistook those particular positions as intake only to discover later that they were exhaust?)...
