So everything thing I have read says my car 1998 firebird formula (no ram air) is a 13.9 second 1/4 mile car. What do you think true false high or low? What is the easiest cheapest why to in the 12's even consistent hight 12's. thanks for your input.

Well, lets see. My '98 Trans Am (heavier than your Formula) which had 2:73 gears ran a 13.17@106.49 with a Whisper lid and free mods such as... Ported MAF ends, Free Ram Air mod, and EGR mod! thats it and that was on street tires! it was in the mid 50's that day! the SS which is about the same wieght as a Formula ran 13.04@106.67 with just an airlid and the Free Ram Air mod! it has 3:23 gears instead of the 2:73's. your car should run mid 13's bone stock, get a few mods and you will have a low 13 second car, get a converter or headers and 12's are easy!

If you can drive it, somewhere between 13.2-13.6 @ 104-107 mph is what you can expect in decent weather. The stripper Z-28s & Formulas are usually just as quick & sometimes even quicker than the WS6 & SS b/c they're lighter.

My buddies '98 Z-28 (A4) with the same mods as mine plus some minor weight reduction such as... Removed back seat, removed front sway bar and removed front bumper support. He went 12.52@111.59! keep in mind, his only bolt ons were Mac headers, air lid and a 3" Maganflow catback!

I never really mentioned I have 3.23's and (4a). Would the lid do me much without the ram air hood.

Yep a lid would make a noticible improvement. Probably the best mod you can do for under $150.

ok 12's u can run with 75 dry shot NOS, a SLP smooth flow airbox, a jet chip will help alot if u have an automatic and some sub frame conecters. and you'll be set

Get yourself a lid, cutout - or - 3" catback, headers and a 3500 stall converter and you will run low 12's to high 11's!
