Been to Road Atlanta?

I got to go May 24 for Track Days and it was FUN :btg:
Being my first time, I ran in the Touring group, which is lead-follow. Fortunately, by the end of the day, the instructors go all out - at least mine did!!
I plan to go back and run in the B-group, which allows limited passing and no lead-follow.
Between the three groups, there were probably 55-60 cars. I don't remember them all, but there were a boatload of Vettes (mostly Z06's), a few Mustangs (some were Cobra), a Shelby Cobra, 2 Modenas, several BMWs (including a 2002), a couple of Acuras, 2-3 S2000's, 1 Camaro, 2- 240Z's, 1 other MkIV, 1 MkIII, 1 Focus, a couple of Audis, 2-3 Vipers and others that escape me now.

Anyone else been?

I've been to Road Atlanta, but not yet on Road Atlanta. I went to see the Walter Mitty Challenge last year. Right now it's been over a year since I've had anything running they'd even allow on an autocross course as my turbo Dart project has dragged on way too long, but someday I may see if I can get on a road course.

Wow - a turbo Dart. Interesting. What are the particulars?

If you get a chance - Track Days are worth the money. At least it's not too far!! It was 8 hours for me to get there!!

(BTW - my son lives in Covington - has a black 240SX).

I took over a project from another guy who had parted out a turbo slant six. It has a small (probably too small, likely to make a lot of torque at 2,000 RPM but have no top end) TE04 on a K-car exhaust flange welded onto a stock slant six exhaust manifold. The intake side features a Holley four barrel that has had some mods to make it work better under boost, the most important of which seems to be air seals on the throttle shaft. There's also some assorted items like an electric fuel pump and adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I was going to run an MSD BTM but the used one I have isn't working. I plan to run 8 psi of boost or so. I have an intercooler sitting around, but haven't tried to install it yet.

Holy "resurrect an old thread" Batman !

I know you are dying for an update.

Did go back to RA and run the B group. Major fun.
There was a sweet gold RATA there that could DRIVE!! Not only was his car great, but apparently he is an instructor at another driving school.

Otherwise there were plenty of Vettes, and even a fair number of Supras!

Believe it or not, someone drove a BMW X5 in the Touring group....... and wrecked it!
