thats how i feel,.. i would like to be as consistant as possible and their will be that added pressure of a national event. hopefully the weather holds out and we get some great ford drag racing in

The weather seems to be great about rac time... Except it rains so much, ya never know. But what a BEAUTIFUL area! The track looks funny though, on the long end... Looks like it just drops off completely! Ever noticed that? The "mountain" view is great too. Wish I could make it...

ya i like the view and the whole facility. track hooks real nice too. yeah the end has that feeling to it,gainsville has the strangest back track.... thing goes for miles it seems.... car runs outta gas almost!

Btw, I've located a set of stock, TFS TW heads for $750 in Orlando. They've had a valve job, and I think they're O-ring grooved too(needs a Fel-Pro 1006 gasket), but they're stock otherwise. Tell your friend... They won't likely last. If I need to go get them, the price will go up. I'll gladly give him the shop number, etc. so he can do it if he wants them.

off the top of your head do you think the pistons will need clearancing?.... not to familar with tfs tw's.. on a 88 lower end.
Posted by: Grape Ape
No they won't. It's a good thing to do, but not needed here. These heads come with 2.02 intakes and 1.60 exhaust valves. They are a direct bolt on, with a stock cam and stock pistons. TFS says not to use more than .530 lift and something about not using more than 243/263 @.050 duration. I didn't pay attention to that part... .530 lift matters I'd think.

Scat crank, eh? you got it bad, dude (contratulations!)
Will the valvetrain match the crank?? What's the max rpm you're planning on (or running). Looks like fun to me.

Nice 'Stang...Maybe I'll get mine to run that fast eventually...Actually, I plan to start sucking as much info from you guys as I possibly can, so I can start making decisions about mods for my car...

the short block will easily live at 8-9k rpm!!!! was built too.. original intention was to have one nasty solid roller nitroused small block... well that would simply break the bank and a cam with upwards of 750+ lift isn't ideal for driving on the street every once in a while... i went with a hydrolic roller designed for nmra and ffw renegade class where they rev to 8000+... i won't push it past 7200 at the big end with out a higher gear like a 4.56... i do shift at 7500 now though...i went hydro just so i would avoid screwing with valve lash/rebuilding lifters/and all the necisarry hardware... i thought a hydro set up would be cheaper but try convinsing yourself that 1200 $ is cheap for a streetable valvetrain.... i would have been looking at close to 2grand for a solid set up.
watch out!.. this sport aint cheap!
