My brother -in- Law has a 95 T-Bird with the 4.6 . I'm trying to find a place on the web that has info on this motor. What is the difference between this motor and the 5.0 ??? We don't know JackShit about this engine and I can't find anything out about it. He is considering modding this motor up. Is it worth it ??? Would appreciate any advice or direction. Thanks !!!!

They are compleatly diffrent engines

4.6

The 4.6 is an over head cam engine, They can make good power but it is expencive and they have a small aftermarket. They love superchargers

5.0

The 5.0 (302) is a push rod engine that can make good power. They have a huge aftermarket and can be built on a budget.

It's not easy to add an S/C to the T-bird, but it can be done and it's probably the best route for added performance for this engine. Having one installed, including purchase price can run as high as $5,000

If he wants a chip for it, tell him to take it to a shop that burns chips and have it done there. Mail order chips SUCK in general!

woops shoulda fraised that diffrent...... yeah ive seen horror stories with steeda chips on mod motors guessing via telephone on the burn for blown appli...

i was just trying to give him a general shop that could give him the heads up on what kind of things they have for his car..... as far as basic knowledge i would throw a set of gears in the rear for starters and get a set of sticky tires.... ya can always loose weight outta the car.... free speed.

Actually, thats Red Rocks Ampitheater. It's the road leading up to the theater, so they just blasted through. The only (and I mean ONLY) good thing about living in Colorado are the picture ops.

4.6L along with 5.4L are modular motors incase some of you didnt know. The 5.0L as mentioned is a pushrod motor and can be modded with some heavy performance and be one wicked engine.
