I got the engine in my 84 Bronco 2 today

the motor, stock 302 from an 81 full size Bronco

The plates I made to mount the engine. It mates it to the stock 2.8 mounts

That looks fine, but why'd you use a stock 81 engine? Ya like low power and poor fuel mileage? Sorry to seem "mean" about it(I'm not trying to be), but I never could understand anyone using a 180hp V8, when they could get one with the same c.i. but... with a whole bunch more hp for a reatively small amount of money. I've seen this swap done several times and I have yet to note a single person being happy with their result. It's always the same in the end.. "I wish I'd done..." I just don't get it. Even a 5.0HO engine would seem worthy by comparison.

I hope ya like it, since that's all that counts. I just don't think you will like it, as the performance isn't going to be there. If you did it because the 2.8 broke and you had a 5.0 lying around, well okay.. For performance, it's a waste of time from what I've seen...

I don't mean to sound down about it, sorry. On a really bright note, that BII looks some kinda clean(rust free)!

Its not my Bronco, Its my dads. We bought it for 250 bucks and the 2.8 was locked up and we had the 302 laying around. Hes not looking for performance, He just wanted a 4x4 to go to the Beach in.

That's not so bad... But it will be much heavier now... He'd better be careful out there, unless large tires are in store..

It's not like it's gonna just sink in the sand ... Anything bigger than 31"s on the stock diffs and he has something else to worry about.
