Well, not a newbie to muscle cars, but newbie here...a friend (TPIguy) turned me onto the forums

Currently driving a German car, but 2005 may find me back into a Ford Cobra.
Past cars:
61' Olds with a 442 dropped in it
64' Falcon Convertible with 302 Boss dropped in it (Hearst in-line shifter)
67' Ford Fairlane, another 302 Boss dropped in this one too.

I'm certainly enjoying my German car at the moment but I'll be baaaaaack! (To muscle cars)

Now, what shall I do to my F150 300 ci. straight 6? Drop a newer V10 into it? :p

Heya Mike! Yep, still in AH, but not nearly as much...little time with two young boys both involved in sports now.

Well, the 2001 Cobra and the 2001 BMW 330ci was my final two choices of 6 cars I was looking at back in the summer of 2001, however the BMW won out because of my kids and the need for a commuter...now that the kids are older, we haul them around primarily in the wifes SUV. So, the Cobra would be a 4th car for fun on the week-ends, and I'd keep the BMW for commuting. Just day dreaming at this point and saving my pennies!~ I really loved the 2001 Cobra SVT I test drove but the cheesy interior and the lack of a "usable" back seat drove me away...I needed functionality with the family...but as a 4th car, I won't be as concerned with functionality...and the fact that the 2004 cobra will be something like 390 hp supercharged is drawing me in like flies to flypaper. Cya around and I'll keep this forum bookmarked!

Keep the 300ci straight 6 in there! It'll run forever!

If it ever dies, go w/ a 351w.

Evil, how many miles does yours have now?

Ain't that the truth! This is my 2nd one. My 1980 Ford straight 6 I got about 250,000 miles on it before I sold it. This 1991 is built just as tough. It was still running good when I sold it in 1990! Burned alittle oil though.

My 89 F-150 has 269,000 miles on the clock and still runs strong. Its a tough engine!

That engine should last easily till 300,000 and probably much longer. That's part of why Ford dropped it. They can't make money on an engine that won't break!

If it does, a V10 isn't my choice, for sure. I'd use a 351W(like Mike) for several reasons, #1 being I know "how to" about them. The V10 is a torque monster, but it's also a bigtime gas hog. My .02
