6 of one, half dozen of the other... When it comes down to it, I'd rather a Saleen because retail is ALWAYS high on those and the Roush is a tad too gawdy for my tastes.

Hmm, take what, $60k ? Buy a slightly used '00-'01 GT, we'll say $20k spent. Add twin turbos $5000 , upgrade suspension $1000, Bassani Exhaust $700 or so. Good shifter $150-$200. 4 point roll bar $500. 3.73 gears $200 . There now you have $27,400 spent in a car that will smoke the other two, and lots of leftover pennys. No, it wont resale, but thats how I'd spend the money. Who cares about resale anyway ? Cars are for driving, beating and racing, not to be garage queens waiting for some old fart to over pay for it.

I'd rather do like Tang said, screw those overpriced posuer cars. I'm actually considering gettin' another Stang to turbo and turn it into a drag whore for fun. It would definitely be a '99+ GT. You can get them for quite a bit less than $20K too.

Heck if you want to blow that kind of cash though, I have a 3 digit code for you "Z06." With a new airbox lid and some headers, neither one of those cars can hang with the Z06.

EXACTLY !!!! You said it yourself, they are only names. Names for self indulgent weeners who feel like they need a penis extension. Either one of those cars can be out performed, by a regular Mustang with less money than they cost. All it takes it some common sense, and lose the "It cost more so its better" syndrome.

Don't get me wrong, if I had nothign better to do with my money; I'd buy a Saleen. Since I do, I would do what every one else has stated they would do: Buy a gt or a cobra, stick some mods into it and blow both of those cars away.

Don't buy a Saleen. I've heard nothing but horrible stories about their parts supply and getting through to them takes an act of congress.

From what I've researched, Roush is better than the Saleen.
