What all was needed for that again ?
There is a guy wanting to sell me a '95 T5, 80k miles on it, bell housing and a set of 4.10 gears for $500.
Said the trans is in great shape and was working smooth when it came out.

Is your '92 an auto? Bummer.
I had a buddy do the T-5 swap before. He used the same crossmember as the AOD. He did get the clutch pedal assy along with an adj. cable, new clutch and flywheel.
Do you have many mods on your Pony? Those 4.10's will wrap her up super-fast!
*p.s. that's an awesome deal for a tranny and gears!

No, mine is a T5

Shouldn't all the other parts be the same? I would think all you would need would be the tranny itself.

I think somebody told me the bellhousing is different and so are the tranny mounts. So I wanted to double check before I jumped into it.
Mike, did ya check on that F-Body T5 ?

been trying to get ahold of one locally. Left a message for a guy that was selling an 87 camaro w/ a 5 speed for $350. No motor, so I'd take what I need and part the rest out and make a few $$$.
Be nice if that 95 fit. Its still behind a 5.0 so you'd think the bellhousing would be the same. Could be wrong though.

Wonder how big of a difference the 4.10's will be over my 3.73's that I have now ?
Since there is only an 1/8 mile track close by, the 4.10's have gotta help.

check it out on a Gear Ratio calculator. What kind of RPM's are you making right now through the traps?

No clue, never have got to run the Stang. Always wanted to but never got around to it. So this time after I fix the trans problem Im gonna go run it first thing.

I believe the 95 uses a T45, The bellhousing bolts from the inside instead of the outside.

I thought the T45 came along in '96 ?

Your probably right, For some reason I thought they started the T45 with the new body style.
When I changed the clutch in my 95 GT I seem to remember the trans looking diffrent than in my My Notchback

I could be wrong, but either way, as long it has the bellhousing I can put it in my car. they use the same shifter and clutch works

The T45 did start in 1996, with the 4.6L.
The T5 swap from a 94-95 GT might require the spacer behind the D/S because the tailshaft and housing is shorter than the Fox body cars. I've heard that many times, but never did a swap like that, so Idonno if it's true. The bellhousing itself should be the same and I have no idea if the crossmember is different, but they look basically the same.

Is it possible to just swap my tail shaft onto it ?
I know I's have to take it apart and swap the main shaft inside.

That's WAY too much like work. It could be done, but you'd have to swap the shaft and the housing.

That spacer is used on a T-45. That trans is longer than the old T-5's. I just read an article about a car swapping the old T-45 for a Tremec which is based on the same dimensions as the T-5's
