89 Cavalier Problems

hey im new any help would greatly greatly appreciated.

Ok so i have an 89 cavlier 4 cyl 2.0 litre.

It ran fine for about 3-4weeks, then i noticed a leaked in my coolant, i got that fixed. Then i was feeling a jerking motion as i drove down the road, so i thought maybe my spark plugs werent producing, replaced them and they were rusted to shit, i also changed the wiring to the cyclinders, and i changed the relay to the rad fan and the rad fan.

well now my car seems to not want to run. I have a remote starter and the car runs fine when i use that, but when i put in the key, it stalls, the remote starter works where if u touch brake or gas it shuts off, until the key is in (so no one can just steal it).

so my prob is, the car wont stay running, and when it does, i get jerking motions and if put down the gas car doesnt respond. but i is intaking the gas...any help would be great

sounds like the tranny

You may want to get that checked out.

Wish we could help, but I don't think too many of us know a heck of a lot about Cav's! sorry. Did you try the Cav sites?

Sounds like it could just be a dirty throttle body. Try pickin up some cleaner for it and give it a good blow. Worked for me.

Your torque converter clutch(tcc) could be staying on.

On the drivers side front of the engine compartment, you should see a blue 4 pin connector with 2 wires going into the transmission. (it may be below the intake hose) Disconnect it and see if it fixes the problem. If it doesn't I'd scan the ecm for any codes.

If the coolent leak happen to get to the ( esc) eletronic spark control IT will cause you to miss fire giveing you that jerking motion also try injecter cleaner and cean out your throttle body while your at it .I own a 89 z24 and had simmiler things happen but it was a wireing thing that gave me a check engine light it would go on and off when off it ran great but when on it ran like sh--
