I own a Ford Sport Trac 2003 and I am looking for someone that can help me reomve the governor that came factory on my truck and does not allow me to go higher than 3000 rpms when idle.

Why would you wanna rev it more than 3 grand at idle anyway?

thats a good question, unless he has a pto powered winch

My bad, I meant not to be able to go higher than 3000 rps when in park or neutral.

As long as it works in drive or reverse I dont see a problem. Maybe its a saftey feature to keep from over revving with no load on the engine.

Ford house told me that it was a safety feature to keep from over-revving and blowing your engine when it's out of gear.

Pretty lame, huh.

Damn, Im good...lol

I'd have said that stuff, had I been here 2 weeks ago. Anyway, the new vehicles have a shutoff as a safety feature when no load is present. What's worse, they're speed limited too! Somewhere around 98mph. That's fast enough for me in basically any truck, but I'm not likin' it too much where racing is concerned. Good thing it's not on the Lightning, which holds the record for production pick ups at some 147.7mph...

Oh, and you can't likely override the computer on this(no load rpm) one, but if it's gonna happen, it will only happen on the dyno, with special "chip" tuning to get past that. I'd do the speed limiter thing, but not the nuetral/park rev limiter, which serves a real purpose.
