haven't been on in a while,.... well the season is over up here,.. but not for me as I'm home bound to race in Florida...... ran a new best...check it out on the time slip feature..... next to the other fords....seem to dominate the site...
maybe these ls1 boys should spend more time on the car and less on the computer.

Hey, congratulations. But don't say that last part too much. I spend as much time on these boards as anyone, and I'm not stuck in the world of slow cars. Slow thoughts, maybe... Slow hands, couldbe... Slow car? Nuh uh.

well its not like ya gotta do much to make a ford "fast" in the first place.................:btg:
p.s. get some sticky tires on that pig and get some new times!!!!

I'll be racing it again when time permits. I have better tires already, but I want to re-arrange some things before racing, and I'm busy. I've got a carpet for it, and have the seats out, plus, I intend to swap the electric windows with some manuals. Oh, and one of my headlight studs pulled free during installation after the paint job, so I've decided to leave that alone till I can get 2 newer lights. I have yet to add my tachometer.
Finally, I need to redo the battery box, add the shutoff switch and the driveshaft loop into this new body(just because). It runs quite well already, but I'll need to dyno tune due to the new tranny and gearset.
Other not so important things to do include wiring my "bump" switch, new hood pins, two pieces of window molding not done at the body shop and relocating the nitrous bottles to the cabin, so I can open or close them more conveniently.
But again, congratulations. Did they boot you from the track? Oh, how much juice did ya use and what size tires and gears?

sounds like my car,.. i have lots of little things to fix,... dunno if you have the shut off switch yet,... i had the moroso 200 peak amp 75 continuous duty switch,... thing took a crap on me and i had to pack it up one Sunday...
went with the flaming river rod/push off 800 amp switch,... nice piece.i need a carpet for mine as well,... all the sound deadner remains look like bird crap on the floorboard... i wasn't kicked out of the track but apparently i wasn't legal to run the times either,... some people just don't care.instead of paying for a license and getting a halo bar and all that fun stuff I'm just going to slow the car down,..(actually i want to work on my n/a times some..best 10.79) car ran in the 9's in 60 degree weather,.. didn't matter,... on a 2 stage 200 shot...its lovely when you have some one put their race tune on the car... i was running 10.0's on a 250 with helpful suggestions on my own.. figure if i can get the thing to run 10.30-10.50's n/a i'll toss these crap copper gaskets and the o-rings. this was on a 26in. tire w/4.30's.. we put 4.10's back in because i was running out of gear,... looks like I'm going to try my luck with 28in w's w/a 4.56 gear when i have money for the swap,.... i need a better tranny/clutch combo... thinking of going pro shifted.

I think I warned you about those steep gears on 26's last year... You need HUGE rpm for that to work out well. On 28's you'll be fine with 4.10's, but on motor, you'd surely do okay with the 4.56's. I don't care for super low gears myself. Seems to me, the more mph I can get at the other end, the better. Of course, I'll have the advantage of 900+ lb ft of torque on the launch, so tall gears won't hurt a thing.
Good luck deciding on the tranny. I prefer automatics nowadays. It's mighty hard to miss a shift with a reverse manual valve body.
Good to see you dropped the nitrous level and still lowered the ET. Tuning is a wonderful thing. I think you might be happy if you see a 10.60 on motor, and 10.70 is more than respectable already. Don't puch it too hard. No sense in stressing it for a tenth. That's why there's nitrous, and yours was built for nitrous use, right?
I have a Moroso switch and a Flaming River switch. The Flaming River was the planned version for this car, so I left the Moroso in the old car.
Ya know, the rules apparently stipulate that if you use DOT tires and a 6pt bar, you can run 9's legally. Check out your rule book for whichever sanctioning body the track uses. Moroso uses NHRA. Continued success!
