Im tired of how easy it is for ricer to bolt on a turbo to their cars and add 150 horse like that and at a cheap price with the help of ebay. How hard is it to built a single turbo on an ls1, not taking in mind the pre-made kits. Rather how different would it be from a turbo kit on an import.

thanks, it just I lready have a turbo and an intercooler and realy want them on my Z, can u imagine the pwr

There is so many easier ways to make an adtl 100hp on an LS1. In all actuallity the Compression ratio of an LS1 is to high for effective forced induction.

I know a few guys with 500+ rwhp LS1's with TT set ups. But the aluminum block, compression and non forged internals can cause problems at some point. Actually with forged internals the LS1's are great with a turbo or SC up to a point. The new Cobras Iron block and forged internals are like 8:5 compression VS the LS1's 10:1

speaking of blocks are thelt1's iron or aluminum or iron block with aluminum heads? and i have tosay is be careful if you have an aluminum block. one of myold friends friend was driving a supercharged firebird and he did a 125 shot of nitros and lets just say he was finding pieced miles away. (he reenforced tehfirewall thank gad)

Alluminum block with iron sleeves.

LS-1's use forged internals? I thought the pistons were all cast aluminum instead of forged?

I say to hell with blowers and turbos on LT-1's and LS-1's....spray the hell out of them.

Never say never, dude. You'd be amazed at how much boost that thing would handle before it started having preignition problems.

I know several guys with Incon TT set ups on stock LS1's with no problems. I do know that they "could" be asking for a problem, but they seem to hold up pretty decent for a aluminum, non forged, 10:1 motor. Some will pop though, I'm sure!

The best Way I Installed a Turbo I bought the STS turbo kit for $3,100. After instaling it runing a very low boost 4-5 Psi I got 95 HP to the wheels. Then I Installed water injections sytem for 200 Bucks and Incresed to 6.5 PSI i was seeing about 120 HP to the wheels and the air was a little hot at that point new i could not run more boost I did a 75 shot of noswhich gave me about 59 HP to the wheels haveing a Automatic I was stock 268 to the wheels. Put me at a safe 450 HP to the wheels with out a lot of mods or lossing my dayly driving and still not to much stress on my Transmission and Rearend I was runing low 12.3 and when I changed my 2.70 gear for a 4.10 ,, Gas was cheaper then lol. I was at 11.90 and I am a sucky driver with sucky drags. IE I had to spend some money on Injectors and progrmaming becuase i had some pinging thats i was not happy about it cost about $600 for both injector and programing.
